ARCH300 - Assignment 3: Pixels

From the assignment sheet:
For this assignment, you will be using Photoshop and mixed-media in an attempt to create a re-interpretation of a ‘pixel’ (or an individual element of a larger image). You will use the techniques outlined in today’s lecture(shade, shadow, tone, value and composition).
Step 1. You will each be assigned a digital file (.jpeg) by your TA. You are to take the digital file and create a minimum of 10 re-interpretations of the file. Each reproduction of the file, should be the same overall proportion as the original file (70 pixels wide x 668 pixels high). You can increase the size (as in,enlarge the image, print it out, trace or draw over it and scan it back into a digital file) – but each iteration should remain the same proportion. Moving from the computer, to a hand drawing and back again is encouraged.
Step 2. You will layout all 10 of your re-interpretations in addition to the original file on a landscape 11 x 17 sheet. The reinterpretations should be set next to one another in a single row, in vertical format, in the same proportion as the original.
Step 3. You will submit a single digital file, selected from one of your 10 re-interpretations to your TA via the Google Drive where you obtained your original file. This file must be the same exact size as the original (70 pixels wide x 668 pixels high).

This project marked my first use of Photoshop. My professor combined the submitted pieces from everyone in the class to remake the whole image from which our pieces were cut.
